Center of Excellence in Natural Rubber Latex Biotechnology Research and Development (CERB), which under the supervision of Prof. Emerita Dr. Rapepun Wititsuwannakul, have proposed a new rubber industrial value chain which focused on commercial-scale preparation and utilization of the non-rubber components or serum (fine chemicals, specialty biochemicals) which obtained as a by-product from rubber latex industry.

   Our research unit have been studied on latex and its serum utilization for more than two decades with a valuable support by Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences (Public organization) (TCELS), Thailand Research Fund (TRF), and Prince of Songkla University. With the value of funding about 2.4 million pounds, we successfully created two innovative process technologies for utilization of the non-rubber components as a source for various biologically active compounds.

   Our first successful commercial product prepared from the fresh Hevea latex serum is ‘Hb Extract’, an all-in-one natural (green) cosmeceutical for healthy skin improvement. Additionally, nutraceutical and biopharmaceutical related products including pectic and glucan oligosaccharides were also successfully prepared
